After two and half years of planning and construction, the Andover Inn re-opened after a complete renovation by Arrowstreet, working alongside Erland Construction in a design-build partnership. “It was important to the Academy that the Andover Inn’s historic architecture be preserved amid what was otherwise a top-to-bottom modernization project,” said Michael Williams, Phillips Academy’s director of facilities about the multi-million dollar renovation.

Arrowstreet took that challenge and created a 30-room inn complete with all the modern amenities required in a high quality business hotel.  For the public spaces, including the lobby, restaurant and Phillips meeting room, original architectural detailing was preserved and enhanced.  The design team reconfigured spaces in these areas to incorporate new amenities while preserving the character of the spaces.  The room floors included a complete gut renovation, with all new room layouts, finishes, and systems.
