I took some photos of beautiful Fort Warren this weekend while visiting Georges Island in the Boston Harbor. The imposing structure is built almost entirely of granite and brick. The walls, spiral staircases, arches, and barrel vaults are feats of masonry detailing. Its many passages, bastions, and towers make it an interesting and inspiring destination for young and old. It’s a quick 20 minute ferry ride from downtown Boston.
