Arrowstreet was selected to design the renovation of the Children’s Room at Thayer Public Library in the Town of Braintree. This project blends the firm’s extensive experience in our Learning Environments, Graphic Design, and Interior Design studios. This active space in the library is in need of updating to accommodate growing demands, expanded programming, updated technology, and a flexible environment for the entire community.

The design team kick-started the project with the Library Director and Assistant Library Director in order to understand the existing community and program needs. The goal is to create a space for imaginative play that also encourages experimenting with technology. We are in the process of designing and creating a flexible, adaptive, fun and inviting space for the youngest members of the community and their caregivers. We will continue this dialogue in the coming weeks in order to create a welcoming environment that will increase the ‘ah ha’ moments for family interaction while instilling “a love for reading” for the youngest readers and learners in the community.
