On June 17th I will be chairing ULI’s Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) for the Town of Westborough to explore development opportunities for the site of the old Westborough State Hospital and advise the town on potential future uses.   The day will include a site tour, stakeholder interviews, a planning charrette, and a public presentation of our findings at 6:30 pm.

Long vacant, the buildings on the site were once home to one of the first institutions in the United States for the study and treatment of mental illness and psychiatric rehabilitation. The site provides easily accessible by nearby Route 9 and I-495 and has view of Lake Chauncy and the surrounding landscape.

The TAP group will be meeting throughout the day to explore possibilities for this location. The public is invited to attend a presentation of our findings at 6:30pm at the Forbes Municipal Building, Room 23, at 45 West Main Street, Westborough, MA.
