Lauren Haggerty and Jenna Carolan from our Experience Design Studio spent a beautiful summer evening in the Charlestown Navy Yard, thanks to A Better City and a thoughtful tour led by Jasper Sanchez, assistant curator for the Boston Public Art Triennial.
We explored four compelling public art installations that are part of the 2025 Boston Public Art Triennial, on view now through October 31. Hearing the stories and intentions behind each piece was incredibly moving, reminding us that public art, at its best, challenges us to look beyond aesthetics and connect more deeply with place, history, and meaning.
Fun fact: a salvaged gauge in Beatriz Cortez’s Nomad 2 was originally used in the Manhattan Project.
Artworks featured on the tour included:
– Today is the Day by Andy Li
– This Moment for Joy by Alison Croney Moses
– Convergence: Porous Futures by Evelyn Rydz
– Nomad 2 by Beatriz Cortez
If you haven’t visited yet, we highly recommend! Artworks are on display throughout the city
