In June of last year, Arrowstreet completed an interiors renovation of the Harvard Square Hotel’s entry lobby and guestrooms. Our aim was to create a refreshed look in contemporary finishes, with a signature frosted glass rail staircase leading from the Mt. Auburn Street entry up to the concierge. To follow on the internal renovations, Arrowstreet is now assisting the hotel in a visual identity and rebranding effort on the building’s exterior.

The design of the exterior improvements features a new frosted glass canopy generously overhanging the sidewalk with internal LED lighting to complement and enhance the urban energy and night life excitement of Harvard Square. The canopy is structurally supported by exposed steel plates and tubes with attractively detailed stainless steel bolt fasteners to capture the glass at the ends. Other improvements include lighting upgrades to help signify the hotels drop-off, miscellaneous painting, and three new internally lit signage installments along with a crisply detailed metal fascia and soffit sign band over the hotel’s entry lobby. Stay tuned for further updates as construction is scheduled to commence this summer.
