Although the concept of creating healthy environments is not a new one, the conventional emphasis has primarily revolved around physical health and cleanliness. However, in recent years there has been a significant shift towards recognizing and embracing emotional well-being as a crucial element in designing spaces. The question then arises: how can a building actively foster and inspire both physical and emotional health?

To explore this question, Arrowstreet is hosting ‘Well-Being by Design,’ where we will delve deeper into the components that designers and other stakeholders integrate into our built environments to cultivate a sense of peace, tranquility, and overall well-being. The evening will feature presentations by Eric Gunther and John Rothenberg (Creative Director and Managing Director, SOSO), Liz Powers (CEO and Co-founder, ArtLifting), Justin Tierney (Senior Development Manager, Redgate), Ashley McDonell and Jenna Carolan (representing Arrowstreet’s Interiors and Experience Design studios), and Ryan J. Madigan, Psy.D. (Founder and Director, Boston Child Study Center). Together they will share their insights and experiences, shedding light on their approaches to enhancing both the physical and emotional health of spaces, and offer new perspectives for designers and others to consider when embarking on the creation of new environments.
