Student Tours at KIPP Academy Lynn

Over the past few months Matt Rice and I have had the opportunity to give the 7th, 8th and 9th grade students of KIPP Academy Lynn a tour of their new school, which is currently under construction, and speak with them about the role of an architect in this  project. We teamed together with the Consigli, the building contractor, to walk them around the site and share information about the building and process. It was a fun experience for all involved. The students had great questions and the excitement they had for their new space was apparent. The new KIPP Academy Lynn building is scheduled to open for the start of the 2012 school year…

A Taste of Summer: Limoncello

This past winter I worked on a mixed use retail project, Il Mandarin, located in Sant’Agata li Battiati, on Sicily in Italy.  The currently vacant site for the project was once used as an orchard, and still has hints of its past:  lemon trees and the remains of a stone aqueduct. The project location motivated me to create something that captured the charm and character of this place, inspiring me to experiment with making my own limoncello

Career Day: Recruiting Tomorrow’s Designers

On Feb 4th we were invited to speak to some students at the St. Clement School in Medford for their career day. Lauren Haggerty and I had the opportunity to speak to 10 students about the Architectural and Graphic Design profession.
