Curiously positioned at the border between Roslindale and West Roxbury, 361 Belgrade exemplifies how a residential project can provide direct benefit to its context while creating new housing on a blighted site.

This 124-unit mixed-use project is bordered by the MBTA commuter line, residential neighborhoods, and the West Roxbury Parkway. A steep grade change of 13 feet requires the project to negotiate the challenge of providing 85 parking spaces while activating a currently inactive and unfriendly streetscape. The building uses the grade change to its advantage to hide the parking garage below grade, providing over 5,000 SF of greenspace toward the parkway.

Additionally, over 300 linear feet of curb is being extended and updated for public improvements such as new street trees, a larger public walking area, a dedicated bike share station, and safer intersections for community residents.
