Arrowstreet is the Architect of Record for One Milestone, a new 510,000 RSF core & shell life science building at the Enterprise Research Campus (ERC). Working in close collaboration with the Breakthrough Properties, and world-renowned design architects Henning Larsen, and Studio Gang, Arrowstreet led and managed a team of over 25 consultants to deliver the design of this transformative project. As part of Phase A of the mixed-use development, the lab building will anchor a vibrant new district alongside a Convention Center, Hotel, and Residential Towers, all centered around a public greenway that strengthens connections between Allston and the Charles River.
Designed as two interconnected towers linked by a central connector and an activated ground floor, the lab building will provide flexible shell space to accommodate a range of uses, including retail, dining, daycare, and gathering spaces. Level 1 also houses shared amenities and support spaces for lab tenants, while below-grade levels feature parking, bike storage, a fitness facility, and critical MEP/back-of-house functions. Boasting an impressive 510,000 SF of rentable space for R&D tenants, the building stands as a premier destination for innovation, growth, and limitless possibility.
Arrowstreet collaborated closely with Henning Larsen and Studio Gang to integrate lab design programming, guiding key elements such as structural bays, cores, and massing to support both the architectural vision and functional needs of the project. Arrowstreet was hired for our extensive expertise in lab facility design, ensuring seamless integration of building systems to support the labs and front of house spaces all while designing and managing essential back-of-house and MEP spaces. This dynamic partnership has been instrumental in shaping a world-class research facility that harmonizes innovation, sustainability, and community engagement.
