The design brief from the owner was to create the comfort of a traditional Irish pub with a variety of seating experiences that was contemporary and authentic to Medford.  Working within a new modern residential building, the steel and glass shell exterior was transformed with warm woods, leather and deep color accents.  Custom diamond wood grills on exterior glazing filter light to create a sense of privacy from the inside, while maintaining views and providing an inviting glow from the street. The team integrated historic light fixtures that were sourced by the client to add an eclectic feel to the lighting.

The highlight is the focal point central bar with a full-height custom wood back. The central bar opens to a casual high-top bar zone, a comfy formal dining area, and a passage extending to the spacious exterior patio. The restaurant bar offers an inviting space that calls for gatherings with friends and family, creating a unique residential amenity that becomes a venue to enjoy live performances, and an immersive spot for celebrations and game nights. As the restaurant itself proclaims, The Ford is “a place to meet, gather, drink, eat, and celebrate”.
