Arrowstreet is assisting Target with the roll-out of small format, urban stores in the Northeast region. The first of these stores is at Packard’s Corner, near Boston University. The building was originally built as a car dealership with thick concrete floors, theatrically-large columns, and inset wall arches— features not typical to Target’s format. The design team is refreshing these components, allowing them to be integrated in the store’s architectural design. The shopping experience will be focused on the college-oriented neighborhood, and merchandise shelves are subsequently tailored to the community’s shopping needs.
