Signing the beam before lifted into place Beam topped with American flag and evergreen tree Beam being lifted into place

Arrowstreet recently celebrated a big moment with the City of Worcester, Unum, and many others when the steel frame was finally topped off at the CitySquare Development’s newest office high-rise on January 4th. It was a brutally cold day, but a well-attended and warmly welcomed milestone for the many people involved. The patriotically painted beam was signed and hoisted 120 feet up into the air to be placed in its final home. What an impressive sight: an evergreen tree on one side and the American flag on the other, flying up in the sky marking the building’s official presence in Worcester’s skyline.

Joined by local business leaders and Timothy McGourthy, Chief Development Officer for the City of Worcester, the whole team took a moment to pause from our hard work to appreciate the importance and impact of this building. There is a sense of pride in this building from the entire construction team that I feel whenever I am on site, and I felt it yet again on that Wednesday as after only a quick refueling, the masses of iron workers and all the other trades went right back to their work up high.

I have been working on this project with a team of many talented architects and designers here at Arrowstreet from the earliest design days of the CitySquare Development into and through construction. I don’t think I will ever get tired of seeing buildings take shape around me as communities look to grow, and CitySquare drives that home for me every time I drive down I-290 and see the tall white tower crane. Now, let’s go do some more!
