This year marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. While we are not able to celebrate in-person this year, it is even more important than ever that we do recognize this occasion. From the connection of climate change to the current COVID19 crisis to the glimpse of what we may experience in the future from the climate change crisis, the time for action is now.

Human health and planetary health are inextricably linked. To protect one, we must protect the other.

2020 Virtual Earth Day Cleanup

Built Environments + had planned to participate in the Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup, which will now be held this autumn. The Annual Earth Day Charles River Cleanup builds on a national effort as part of American Rivers’ National River Cleanup®, which to date, has removed over 25 million pounds of trash from America’s waterways. Instead, we can celebrate Earth Day by joining a virtual cleanup! Grab a pair of gloves and a trash bag and cleanup some litter in your own neighborhood. The virtual event will be held all throughout this weekend, April 25th & 26th.

Earthday.org is running a full day of live events.

24 hours of action in a global digital mobilization that drives actions big and small, gives diverse voices a platform and demands bold action for people and the planet.
