Design for Healthy Living Exhibit

The Museum of Design Atlanta is currently displaying an exhibit called “Design for Healthy Living,” which explores the impact of the built environment on human health. The museum graciously approached Arrowstreet about our design work with Brooklyn Boulders and the integration of healthy, active lifestyles with entrepreneurial work spaces. Of course we and the team at BKB were happy to…

ICSC RetailGreen Wrap Up

“Renowned speakers from around the world… New research presented for the first time… A call for a National Water Summit in the Spring of 2015…” Those are some notes I took from just the first two hours of the ICSC RetailGreen Conference. This year’s conference, the seventh annual, was the best ever. Ok, as co-Chair of the event, I’m biased,…

L.L. Bean Store Openings

November has been an exciting month for the L.L. Bean team here at Arrowstreet. Over the past three weeks, we have had grand openings at three new L.L. Bean retail stores across the country.

At the Minneapolis opening at the Mall of America, I had the opportunity to meet Seth Wescot. Seth is a really cool guy who is helping L.L. Bean grow their younger customer base by testing a product line called “Traverse,” which is designed for serious outdoor sporting conditions. Who is Seth Wescot and what credentials does he have in this area? How about winning two Olympic gold medals in Snowboard Cross? I had a great time talking with Seth at the opening…

Shades of Green

What do you do when your grocery business generates 55,000 tons of food waste every year – the leftovers from the store aisles that aren’t either sold or donated? If you’re Kroger, the largest supermarket chain in the U.S., you build an anaerobic digester to convert all that food to usable energy.

ICSC Real Estate Convention in Las Vegas

Arrowstreet has attended the annual International Council of Shopping Centers Real Estate Convention (RECon) for over 20 years. With all of the major shopping center developers, real estate brokers and retailers present, the convention is THE place to be for anybody in retail real estate development. Some years, more than 40,000 people descend upon Las Vegas to plan projects, broker deals, and network. This year, the convention ran from May 19 through May 22. We were there and the mood in the convention hall was enthusiastic…
