This boutique hotel located at Congress Square is part of a Hyatt Centric’s brand of hotels that are specific to “the place”. No two concepts are alike; they each capture the energy and context of the neighborhood in which they live. For this 163 room, 12 story boutique hotel, Arrowstreet renovated an historic building to re-expose its character, creating a modern clean hotel with a cool vibe. The façade became a critical element in communicating the brand in this newly re-activated neighborhood. Arrowstreet crafted a design/build collaboration with Island Exterior Fabricators to create a façade that meets the project’s high detail design intent while staying within budget. Thin bricks that appear to have depth in color and texture outline a configuration of windows that reflect the illusion of twisting around the building. When in reality, this unique and efficient design allows the window locations to shift from one level to the next without changing the unit types on the inside. The façade fabrication created a unique construction benefit; while the concrete was being poured on the site, the prefabrication of the brick façade panels was simultaneously in production in Long Island.
