Last blog post, I talked about the Getty Center in Los Angeles and the dichotomy between Richard Meier’s building and Robert Irwin’s garden. Rather than choosing the traditional figure-ground relationship between building and landscape, Irwin’s garden poses a very different relationship that has, reportedly, engendered some conflict between Meier and Irwin.
The Evolution of Kendall Square

While some may say that its less of a true downtown (like Central or Harvard Square) than it could have been, it has certainly been an economic and tax engine for the City of Cambridge. Hampton Business District Breaks Ground
Yesterday we broke ground on the Hampton Business District at Gabreski , a new business and technology center on Long Island. With almost a half million square feet of office, warehouse, and showroom space, as well as a hotel, the project will offer a home for the growing number of businesses looking to set up shop in the Hamptons.

Marblehead Teen Center Update
A nice update on our work in Marblehead on adding a teen center to their library appeared in the local paper yesterday.
