The wall graphics in the common spaces of 450 Kendall Street combine a familiar scientific synapse illustration with a map of Cambridge to weave a story about the science-based relationships in the Kendall Square neighborhood and beyond. BioMed properties are represented as illuminated nodes; illustrating the important role that they play in this vibrant, active, and interconnected hub of scientific exploration. 450 Kendall Street is symbolized by the largest and most central node, with axons representing the physical, social, and research connections that so successfully connect this community. The graphics serve to complement BioMed’s art program for the building and adjacent plaza, which includes sculpture and multimedia installations.
